Credentials
   I am a classically trained pianist with advanced degrees in piano performance, piano pedagogy, accompaniment, and chamber music.   I am a  registered and certified member of the following organizations: Austin District Music Teachers Association (ADMTA), National Guild of Piano Teachers, Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA).


My teaching philosophy
   I focus on building a strong music foundation based on technical skills, sound quality, rhythm and a solid foundation in piano theory.   My students learn the discipline on how to master a musical piece so that they can successfully and confidently perform in recitals, auditions, competitions and festivals   
   I introduce my students to a wide variety of piano styles including classical, jazz and popular music.  I guide them in their musical interests, so that they learn to express themselves musically.   
   I understand that most students taking piano lessons will not be professional pianists in the future.   However, my goal is to teach them how to learn to play any musical piece so that they might enjoy music for the rest of their lives.
